Ministry Essentials Training Program

Our objective in establishing the Ministry Essentials Training Program is to create a structured non-formal Christian Ministry training program which will equip ministry leaders in international contexts who have little to no access to formal theological education.

It will be: biblically and theologically foundational; practical in orientation; focused on essentials but comprehensive in scope; internally coherent; flexible for purpose of delivery; and provide a reputable certificate upon completion.

OVERVIEW

The Ministry Essentials Training Program (METP) provides ministry leaders with essential knowledge and skills to lead a congregation or ministry and to set each leader on a trajectory for continuous growth to meet the challenges of ministry. Students will receive a basic education in biblical and theological principles as well best ministry practices.

Leaders will be equipped to engage the people they serve in an effective manner for the sake of the kingdom of God. They will be enriched in appreciation for what God can do through their ministry in the church and in the world as they depend on him and work in partnership with his people. In addition to equipping for ministry, the Ministry Essential Training Program intends to produce biblically informed, practically skilled, character-based, Christian leaders who continue to grow in servant leadership for the sake of the people (congregation) they lead.

MINISTRY ESSENTIAL TRAINING PROGRAM CURRICULUM

The Ministry Essentials Training Program is a non-formal certificate program offered by the GlobalEd Institute at Summit Pacific College. As a non-formal program, students do not register for academic credit, rather they register for courses that are part of a structured program of study with specific learning outcomes, assessment of learning and tracking of student progress through the program. Students who successfully complete all courses will be issued a certificate from the GlobalEd Institute.

The Ministry Essentials Training Program (METP) does not intend to replace comprehensive formal ministry training and does not eliminate the need for further theological education. Its primary function is to provide basic biblical and doctrinal understanding and practical ministry skill development for those who have little or no opportunity for comprehensive training.

The following is a list of the courses for the Ministry Essentials Training Program. Each course has a complete course syllabus, a comprehensive Teacher’s Guide and a Student Workbook.
